My dad says that from the moment I was born I have been, in his words, "a little left of center." He chalks it up to being the only lefty on either side of my family in recent memory. Whatever the reason, I have found that I have always been contrary to ordinary. That doesn't mean that my life is fabulous, or that I have some grand wisdom to impart. It simply means that I have found that, for me, happiness isn't found on the well traveled road...instead I often find peace hacking through the underbrush, making my own path! I have a ton of interests, very few of which I am very good at, but I find joy in the learning. And hopefully I will be able to learn a few things from the people who read what I write...if anyone actually reads this stuff!
"To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never, to forget." —Arundhati Roy
